Apple will announce new iPhone on September 10: Are you upgrading?

9/6/2013

If you're an Apple fan, you're probably not asking yourself if you'll get the newest iPhone, but when. While iPhone enthusiasts still might not be entirely sure when they'll be able to get their hands on the upcoming iteration of their favorite mobile gadget, we're getting much closer to an answer.

According to ABC News, Apple has finally confirmed that it will be holding a press conference on September 10 in Cupertino, Calif., to discuss new products and services. While official details regarding what will be revealed are scarce, the source noted that invitations sent to media representatives from the leading technology company claimed the announcement "should brighten everyone's day." The messages were decorated with colorful dots, which the news provider pointed out could hint at what hues the rumored iPhone 5C could come in. Either way, the dots matched the color themes of iOS 7, which will soon bring change to iPhones everywhere.

As ABC stated, the iPhone 5C is speculated to be a lower-cost, plastic addition to Apple's flagship smartphone line, and experts are even projecting that it could be introduced as not only a new option, but a replacement for the iPhone 4 or 4S. The iPhone 5C is rumored to come in blue, white, green and yellow, a big change from the more uniform designs of iPhones past.

New phone, better security
The iPhone 5 has been the subject of a great deal of speculation in the past months, beyond just the introduction of more brightly-colored choices. Many mobile news outlets have been predicting Apple's newest device will feature an integrated fingerprint scanner, which could revolutionize the way users protect their gadgets and data. For smartphone owners who avoid setting passwords or PINs for the sake of convenience - at a detriment to the safety of their information - a fingerprint scanner could boost security in an unobtrusive way.

Reuters reported that Sonny Dickson, a teenager from Australia who has built an online reputation for leaking Apple product information, recently showed off photographs of what appears to be the new home button, complete with fingerprint scanner. Dickson told the news provider he has between five and 10 sources who purchase prototype Apple parts from employees at the technology corporation's factories.

"While the design differences have yet to be technically assessed, they could have a whole lot to do with the rumored biometric fingerprint scanner that numerous pundits and analysts have predicted. In fact, we'd count on it," Dickson said on his blog.

If keeping your iPhone secure hasn't been one of your strong points in the past, upgrading to the newest version could be an excellent choice, especially if it does come with such advanced safety features. To save money and make the upgrade process simple, getting a ProtectCELL plan that includes cell phone buyback is a wise idea. ProtectCELL will give you up to 50 percent of the full retail price of your current device within 12 months, and up to 25 percent within 13 to 24 months. Not only will trading in help you become more secure, it'll keep you on the cutting edge of what's hot in the smartphone world.

Additionally, getting ProtectCELL means you'll have a new iPhone protection plan to supplement that high-tech fingerprint scanner and any iPhone insurance you may have. After all, you can never be too safe.
