Apple may announce new iPhone next month

Apple may announce new iPhone next month

8/23/2013

There are few things that get smartphone users as excited as the announcement of a new device. Whether you've just purchased the latest gadget from your favorite provider or you're looking to take the leap into the world of advanced mobile technology for the first time, there's something thrilling about hearing what new products are about to hit the market.

For months, rumors have been swirling that Apple is planning a new release. Experts speculated that the company is working on an iPhone 5S or iPhone 6, and now, some news sources are confident that they have the date for the announcement nailed down.

All Things D, which CNN noted has been a highly reliable source of inside Apple information in the past, stated that Apple is expected to debut the newest addition to the iPhone family on September 10. The news provider noted that the new phone will run iOS 7, which features a "radical redesign" of the familiar menus and icons. Other updates are less extreme, including an improved notification system and added capabilities targeted toward developers.

The source suggested that if Apple does debut the new iPhone in September, it will be adhering to its established pattern of hardware announcements. All Things D explained that usually, the firm showcases software updates at its developer conference in June, which allows Apple to test the systems for a couple of months before revealing new devices to the public.

Back in the game
CNN pointed out that the rumored iPhone 5S or 6 announcement comes at an interesting juncture for Apple, which has recently lost significant ground to Samsung in the global smartphone market. If Apple is to regain its stance as the industry leader, it will need to impress consumers with these new products, especially with the Samsung Galaxy S4 becoming an extremely popular option for today's mobile device enthusiasts.

The source also noted that alongside this newest iPhone, there have been a number of other products and features speculated about, including a line of low-cost iPhones, larger devices, fingerprint scanners, a smartwatch and more. However, CNN cautioned that while there has been a higher occurrence of information leaks along Apple's supply line, none of these gadgets and capabilities have been confirmed by the company.

As excitement over the potential new iPhone builds, you might be wondering just how you're going to get your hands on this creation as soon as possible. Especially if you bought your current device recently, switching so soon might be too costly of a process. Fortunately, this doesn't have to be the case if you have a protection plan from ProtectCELL that includes device buyback. With ProtectCELL at your side, you can trade in your current device for up to 50 percent of its retail price within one year of purchase, and up to 25 percent within two years. This gives you the opportunity to try out the new iPhone as soon as it hits the market. Smartphone insurance alone won't keep you on the cutting edge.
