CTIA Wireless 2012 - Recap

5/18/2012 ProtectCELL at CTIA Wireless 2012ProtectCELL kicked-off this year’s CTIA Wireless with a special event at the Hard Rock in New Orleans. In addition to the ProtectCELL team, several of our top dealers and strategic partners had the opportunity to catch-up before the show, share some good food and dance to the beat of The Mixed Nuts, a local party band. The menu included New Orleans fare such as seafood beignets, mini muffalatas, prime rib, a mashed potato martini bar and bread pudding.

On Tuesday, ProtectCELL joined the rest of the wireless industry on the floor of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Located in the heart of the retail and accessories pavilion, the ProtectCELL booth had six meeting spaces including an upper deck that provided the perfect “out of the way” meeting area. The ProtectCELL sales team made good use of this space for meetings with prospects and existing dealers.

The ProtectCELL booth also featured some new multi-media components including a large- screen video and interactive kiosks. The kiosk presentations included video testimonials from several ProtectCELL authorized dealers. Each of these components reinforced the message that ProtectCELL helps wireless dealers overcome their three main challenges: declining revenue, employee turnover and customer loyalty.

Veteran attendees realize that CTIA Wireless doesn’t end when you leave the show floor. In addition to events sponsored by the CTIA organization, there were a wide array of events to attend in the evenings. In fact, one attendee mentioned to me that he finds the after hour events to be just as important for networking and strengthening relationships within the industry. Some of the more notable events during the week included the iQmetrix Cocktail Hour at the end of the convention on Wednesday, LG event Wednesday evening at the Royal Sonesta Hotel on Bourbon Street and the Phobio party at House of Blues on Thursday evening.

Although the show formally ended on Thursday, several members of the ProtectCELL team stayed behind to help build two houses for Habitat for Humanity. This event, organized by iQmetrix, was a terrific team building event and gave us one more chance to network with other iQmetrix partners. And, at the end of the day, it felt good to give back to the city that was a perfect host to CTIA Wireless 2012.
