I went into the store with a broken screen on my Droid X. I dropped it and, like we've all experienced, the glass shattered into a thousand tiny little pieces. I went into the store today looking for a way to minimize my monthly bill and to see about getting new devices since mine was not working out for me anymore. My savings started by changing devices and I smiled upon learning about the first $10.00 savings. With my old insurance I was paying $6.99 a month for each device, which after taxes was actually $17.00 a month. Over two years the insurance was going to cost me $408.00. While I was upgrading my lines and adding a 3rd line to the account, the sales person started to discuss ways of saving me money. We went over different options as far as protection goes. After running the numbers, we found out that at $6.99 a month for 3 phones with typical insurance would end up costing me $503.28 (BEFORE taxes). We then ran the numbers for ProtectCell and found out it would only cost me $329.97 a savings of $173.31. It was then explained to me that this isn't insurance, it's a membership with additional benefits. After I decided to purchase ProtectCell, I was also made aware that since I had purchased 3 memberships in the same day, I qualified for a rebate of $20.
